Why should I donate money to OldSchoolLive.com?
Well, it's like this... OldSchoolLive.com has always tried to provide the best
Classic Hip Hop radio station possible, with the option to request the tracks you like to hear in real-time,
and now I'm asking (more like begging) listeners to pay what they think it's worth to them.
Doesn't OldSchoolLive.com make enough money in ads?

This link is a spreadsheet of what oldschoollive.com made in ad money and donations, vs.
what it cost to keep things up and running in 2006. The number in red is the amount that I had to pay out of pocket.
As you can see, OSL pays out way more money per month than it
receives from ads and donations. And I only had one $5 donation last year, so I'm really trying to push donations this year.
In order to keep the music, request server,
and website up and running, OSL needs to start receiving money in a bad way.
I at least want to start breaking even each month.
Ok, but what do I get if I donate?
Well it depends, because now there are 2 ways to donate:
One-time donation: If you choose to give a one-time donation, you will receive the piece of mind that you have helped
OldSchoolLive.com pay their bills and you will know that OSL will be around for yet another month.
Monthly Recurring Donation: If you subscribe to donate $2, $5, or $10 per month, then not only will you know that you have helped
OSL pay the bills each month, but you will also
have say over others as to what should be added next to the playlist (provided that the request meets the current format of course).
And I'll make a deal with everyone right now. If I get enough subscribers for monthly donations to cover the bills each month,
I will remove all advertisements from the website and from the message board.
That's right.. No more annoying pop up ads or animated ads bouncing around.
Well, what's a fair amount of money to contribute?
The amount of your contribution is entirely up to you. It's really based on your opinion of how much you enjoy OSL and what you
can afford.
Of course, OSL prefers to receive recurring monthly donations, but if you are only able to
give a one-time donation, it is still deeply appreceiated.
Bottom line: If you really enjoy OldSchoolLive.com, please help out the cause by donating any amount you are comfortable with.
