D-Nice

Formerly a DJ for Boogie Down Productions, D-Nice made his solo debut in 1990 with Call Me D-Nice. The album featured cameos from BDP ringleader KRS-One, and although D-Nice's lyrics mostly lacked the political punch of KRS-One's, the album was well-received. Along with "Glory," a track from the movie of the same name, Call Me D-Nice spawned two No.1 singles: the title track and "Crumbs on the Table."

In 1991, D-Nice released To Tha Rescue, a more musically adventurous album. He then moved into production work for Queen Latifah's Flavor Unit Records.
